While the California Angels are having a thoroughly average season, pitcher Chuck Finley is close to becoming the team’s first 20-game winner since Nolan Ryan in 1974. Finley has racked up an 18-6 record and, with 13 games remaining for the Angels, he is expected to get at least four more starts. The Angels will take on the Seattle Mariners at Anaheim Stadium at 1:05 p.m. today. Finley will not be the starter, but it is California Caps Day, with free caps given away to adults in attendance. The Detroit Tigers will come to town for games on Tuesday and Wednesday nights; game time is 7:35 p.m. each night. The Angels will then take to the road for the final time this season, with a three-game series in Kansas City against the Royals beginning Friday.
