Single’s Objections
Regarding the poor treatment of single travelers as described by Frances Blake in your Aug. 26 Letters to the Editor, I also think it’s totally unjustifiable for hotels and motels to charge extra for single occupancy. I travel by myself and have always wondered why I have to pay more since I use less of everything, such as water, soap, bedding and towels.
It’s a simple case of opportunity for gouging and I resent it!
I was planning to go on a group bicycling trip next month but when I found out that a single room would cost me an outrageous $40 more per night, I canceled the trip.
