FileNet Contract: FileNet Corp. in Costa Mesa said it has won contracts to install computerized document storage systems for the Los Angeles County Municipal Court’s traffic division and the Santa Monica Police Department.

The systems, known as computerized image processing systems, are valued at more than $1 million each. The Los Angeles traffic court and the Santa Monica police will use the systems to replace scores of file cabinets, storing records instead on high-capacity optical disk systems that can be accessed by a computer terminal.

FileNet said the systems will speed the processing of tickets and arrest warrants and reduce delays for citizens who appear in traffic court. In Santa Monica, the system will help police search crime records and validate motorists’ identification cards.
