ANAHEIM : Teens Urged to Help Rid City of Graffiti
- Share via
Anaheim teens are invited to help “Wipe Out Graffiti” on Saturday as part of the city’s effort to encourage volunteers to repaint scarred neighborhoods.
Beginning at 8:30 a.m., volunteers will work with officials in neighborhoods throughout the city, painting over graffiti on walls and sidewalks. City sponsors hope the program will beautify areas long marred by spray-painted slogans.
This year, the city estimates that with the help of Saturday volunteers, it has been able to repaint more than 100,000 square feet of vandalized surfaces.
Paint and pans will be provided, but volunteers should bring rollers and wear old clothes. Refreshments will be served, and the work should be finished just before noon.
Volunteers should meet Saturday at 76 S. Claudina St. next to the parking structure.
