Campeau Units: Federated Department Stores Inc. reported a second-quarter loss of $80 million, compared to a $78.9-million loss in the same period a year ago. Sales fell 4% to $983.8 million. Allied Stores Corp. had a second-quarter loss of $46.3 million, compared to a $56.2-million loss last year. Sales declined 3% to $1.12 billion. Toronto-based Campeau, which took over Federated and Allied in 1988, said lower results at the two retail units partly reflected a transition to a new merchandising strategy.
