UC Irvine’s Graduate School of Management announced plans Wednesday to start a training program for entrepreneurs.
The new program, called Accelerate, is being developed with the help of nine corporate sponsors and aims to foster development of high-growth businesses.
“We created Accelerate to assist entrepreneurs in getting high-growth ventures off the ground successfully and as a way to contribute to the development of the business community at large,” said Dennis Aigner, dean of UCI’s Graduate School of Management.
Accelerate, an offshoot of the university’s Program in Innovation and New Ventures, opens this fall to both UCI faculty and students as well as entrepreneurs who are ready to launch an idea or develop a venture.
Accelerate will be introduced at a kickoff dinner Wednesday at UCI’s Beckman Center. The president of AST Research Inc., Safi Qureshey, will be the featured speaker.
