Oklahoma City Sailor Berg Increases Mallory Cup Lead

Robert Berg, sailing out of the Oklahoma City Boat Club, won the fourth race of the 10-race Mallory Cup series Wednesday and extended his lead in overall standings to seven points over Santa Barbara Yacht Club sailor Scott Deardorff.

Berg finished third Tuesday and had finishes of fourth, second and first in the three races sailed Wednesday out of the King Harbor Yacht Club at Redondo Beach. Those finishes earned him 9 3/4 points in scoring in which the winner of a race receives three-quarters of a point and each subsequent place earns points corresponding to that place, with low score winning the overall title.
