RECYCLING CENTERS IN CENTRAL LOS ANGELES
Those old boxes, oil cans, magazines and newspapers that have been building up in your garage are recyclable. The state Integrated Waste Management Board has released the following list of Central Los Angeles recycling centers that accept an array of disposable products. Listings for other Los Angeles County communities will appear this Sunday in suburban sections and the San Fernando Valley Edition. A listing for the Glendale area will appear in Thursday’s Glendale section. The board has a toll-free hot line for recycling information: (800) 553-2962. The line is often busy and does not provide information about prices paid for recylables. Local centers--with phone numbers listed below--provide that information. This list differs from ones previously published in The Times that featured centers certified by the state to pay for beverage containers.
