Transient Accused of Killing Athlete
A Huntington Beach transient has been charged in the fatal stabbing last week of a former Ojai resident and high school tennis star.
Ehriberto Arcelara, 26, was arrested Tuesday by Huntington Beach police in an unrelated narcotics sting and was charged Thursday with murder in the death of Steve W. Aniston, 27. Arcelara was also charged with selling cocaine.
Aniston, a former Nordhoff High School and UC Irvine tennis standout who later moved to Corona, was found mortally wounded behind the wheel of his car in Huntington Beach. He died en route to the hospital, police said.
Arcelara is being held at the Orange County Jail in Santa Ana without bail.
