WORLD IN BRIEF : PAKISTAN : Bhutto Supporters Stage Court Protest

Thousands of supporters of ousted Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto shouting “Benazir is innocent!” briefly occupied a courtroom where she faced a hearing on charges of corruption in office. Dozens of people were injured in the stampede. After two hours of pandemonium at the court in Lahore, the judge adjourned the hearing until Oct. 9, the day Bhutto is to stand trial before him on another corruption charge.
