Police Arrest 17 in Crack Sting

Inglewood police hid inside two crack houses Monday evening, as part of the department’s continuing reverse sting program, and arrested 17 customers who attempted to buy drugs, police said.

Police said they served search warrants on the residents of the two apartments at 4100 W. Century Blvd. and 700 Venice Way and arrested one suspect. The police then sold crack cocaine to buyers and detained them.

Fifteen men and two women were arrested in “Operation Double Tap,” the 22nd sting since the program began in 1987, police said.

The city has promoted the reverse stings with slogans on benches and billboards declaring, “Behind your rock could be a cop.”
