MOORPARK : Contenders List Their Contributors

Moorpark City Councilman Paul Lawrason has raised significantly more campaign funds than his two opponents combined for the mayor’s post, while Councilwoman Eloise Brown has raised twice as much as her lone challenger.

Lawrason reported raising $8,440 between July and September, according to campaign statements filed with the city clerk’s office. He received several contributions from business owners and developers, including $249 from Al Dick of A.&R.; Development, $200 from the JBH Development Co. Inc. and $200 from the Levy Co.

Simi Valley Councilwoman Vicky Howard, who is running for county supervisor, contributed $100 to Lawrason’s campaign.

Moorpark Councilman and mayoral candidate Clint Harper reported $3,843 in contributions for his campaign.

Tom Wheeler, who is seeking the mayor’s job, did not receive any contributions between July and September. However, Wheeler said he has since received a number of non-monetary contributions such as signs and brochures.

Councilwoman Eloise Brown, who is seeking her second term, reported raising $4,506. Contributions included $500 from A.C. Construction Co., $200 from JBH Development Co. Inc. and $200 from the Levy Co.

Brown’s opponent, John Wozniak, chairman of the city’s Planning Commission, has raised $2,236.
