Two men accused in the kidnaping and rape last week of a 14-year-old Oxnard girl pleaded not guilty Thursday.

Carlos Tamayo, 18, and Oscar Rivera, 23, were arraigned Thursday. A third defendant, Oscar Ponce, 19, was arraigned Wednesday.

All three Oxnard men are charged with two counts of forcible rape, kidnaping, sodomy, forcible oral copulation and rape by a foreign object, Deputy Dist Atty. Patrice E. Koenig said.

Rivera pleaded not guilty to additional charges of possessing a controlled substance and being under the influence. He had 2.7 grams of cocaine when he was arrested, Koenig said.

The three are being held in the County Jail, each in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The teen-ager was reportedly raped by three men who offered her a ride home about 1 a.m. Oct. 4. The men are accused of taking her to a field near Gonzales Road, west of Victoria Avenue, where they each raped her, said Sgt. Pat Buckley of the Sheriff’s Department.

After the men left her in the field, the girl flagged down a passing motorist who drove her to the Oxnard Police Department, he said. Officials there referred the case to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department after determining that the rape occurred outside city limits.
