A 46-year-old Tujunga man was crushed to death Thursday morning when his 18-wheeler truck flipped over in Lancaster, pinning him inside, the California Highway Patrol reported.

A 64-foot-long, 60,000-pound liquid propane gas tank fell off the truck and knocked down a power pole, causing an outage in the area. About 95 customers were without power for about three hours, said Southern California Edison area manager Denise Henderson.

The accident occurred at 11:35 a.m. on Antelope Highway near Pearblossom Highway, Officer Miguel Siordia said. The driver was traveling 60 m.p.h. to 70 m.p.h. when he rounded a right-hand curve and lost control of his vehicle, Siordia said.
