A 16-year-old Thousand Oaks boy suspected of robbing a Ventura store last month was shot and killed during an attempted robbery in Agoura, police said Friday.

Adolfo Hernandez died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.

Adolfo was shot and killed by a liquor store employee during a robbery on Oct. 4, said Sgt. Bob Anderson of the Ventura Police Department.

A vehicle then sped away from the area, leading police to believe that the driver also was involved in the crime, he said.

Anderson said the boy’s description matched that of the person who robbed Korb’s Trading Post in Ventura on Sept. 18.

Pictures of Adolfo Hernandez were positively identified by victims of the Ventura robbery, he said.
