Musicians Take a History-Making Tour: In the first visit of its kind since Korea divided at the end of World War II, a contingent of South Korean musicians crossed into North Korea on Sunday on an unprecedented 11-day visit to the Communist North. The 14-person group entered North Korea through the truce village of Panmunjom, 35 miles north of Seoul, and were met by about 600 people. Members of the group, mostly experts in traditional Korean music, will attend a “unification music festival” and return home next week. The visit was authorized by the Seoul government. North Korea guaranteed the group’s free passage and safe return.
