New Macs to Hit the Market: Apple Computer Inc. introduces three Macintoshes today: The Mac Classic, a compact desktop computer with built-in black-and-white monitor, priced at about $1,000 with floppy-disk drive and $1,500 with hard disk; the more powerful Macintosh LC, listed at $2,400, and the Macintosh SI, $3,800 to $4,500. Most analysts predict that the LC, Apple’s first low-cost color unit, will become the hottest seller. But it won’t be ready in volume until January, missing the Christmas season.
