A Westminster man was arrested Monday on suspicion of shooting a woman in the face after an argument over a business deal, police said.

The victim, identified as Tam Odom, 47, of Ventura, was reported in stable condition at Westminster Hospital after being shot with a .22-caliber pistol, police said.

Paul Jermain Patchen, 23, surrendered to police after the 4:25 p.m. shooting and police said that he was being held in County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.

Patchen and Odom apparently had an argument earlier in the day over an undisclosed business deal at a house in the 14700 block of Alcester Street, investigators said.

Patchen left the house and returned later in the afternoon. During another argument, officers said, Odom was shot in the face.
