Consolidated Freightways Inc.: The Menlo Park, Calif.-based transportation and delivery company said third-quarter earnings rose 11% to $8.2 million. Revenue was up 7.2% to a record $1.1 billion. The company said strong trucking business and smaller losses at its Emery Worldwide letter- and package-delivery subsidiary boosted results.
