Marjorie MacTaggart; Retired School Secretary

Marjorie Claire MacTaggart, a retired secretary for the Burbank Unified School District and a longtime Burbank resident, has died at a Burbank hospital. She was 91.

Mrs. MacTaggart died Thursday of natural causes, said her nephew Bob Chappel.

Born Marjorie Claire Little on Nov. 1, 1898, in Hampton, Iowa, she came to Burbank as a child. She worked as a secretary in the school district’s administration office from 1947 until her retirement in 1960. Mrs. MacTaggart was also a 50-year member of the Burbank chapter of PEO Sisterhood, a women’s organization.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Harry MacTaggart, died in 1988.

A funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Eckerman-Heisman Funeral Service Chapel, 333 E. Magnolia Blvd. in Burbank, which is handling the arrangements. Burial will be private. Donations can be made in Mrs. MacTaggart’s name to the First Christian Church of Burbank, where she was a member.
