LOCAL : 2 Held for Child Imprisonment
The parents of a 12-year-old girl were arrested for investigation of locking her in closets for most of the past 10 years, police said.
Joseph and Sandra Sauceda were arrested Monday night after police found the child locked in a bedroom closet, said community service officer Donna Rutherfurd.
Police went to the West Orange Street home on a tip from relatives.
The Saucedas were booked for investigation of felony child abuse and false imprisonment, Rutherfurd said.
Their daughter’s clothes were stained with urine, and she was lying in her own feces, Sgt. Jenifer Kauffman said.
The girl and her six brothers and sisters were placed in the custody of San Bernardino County Child Protective Services. The children range in age from 2 months to 15 years.
