Great American Loses Another Executive

Share

James A. Krzeminski has resigned as chief financial officer at Great American Bank, the latest in a string of top-level executives to leave the troubled San Diego-based savings and loan. Krzeminski, who is leaving the S&L; to “pursue other business interests” has been replaced by F. Anthony Kurtz, formerly chief financial officer at the Price Co. and before that chief financial officer at H. F. Ahmanson & Co.

Also turning in her resignation recently was Jan Strode, Great American’s senior first vice president, director of marketing and corporate communications.

Great American, which is deficient in all three capital standards applied by regulators to measure a thrift’s financial strength, has in recent months seen the resignations of its chairman Gordon Luce, president Roger Lindland, vice chairman Jim Schmidt and executive vice president and corporate counsel Marc Sandstrom, who will leave the S&L; at the end of next month.
