PRO FOOTBALL REPORT / WEEKDAY UPDATE : RAMS : For Jackson, It’s Better to Receive

Share

The Rams ended their 1 1/2-season experiment with Alfred Jackson at cornerback Thursday and moved him to his collegiate position, wide receiver.

“For one reason or another, he hasn’t responded (as a cornerback) the way we’d have liked,” Coach John Robinson said. “Maybe he’s a little too tall, not quick enough, but we think he’s really got something to offer (as a receiver).”

Robinson would not say whether Jackson will play this season as a receiver, or whose spot he might take in the receiver rotation.

Cornerback Darryl Henley, who has been on injured reserve all season because of a torn muscle in his hip, said Thursday’s practice was “probably my most productive day” of work since being hurt in the exhibition season, but Robinson said it would be at least two or three weeks before Henley would be activated.
