COPING WITH HYSTERECTOMY
For book research I am doing on reasons doctors choose to perform hysterectomies on women, I’d be interested in hearing from any women who have had this surgery performed under private insurance plans, Medi Cal, or through a now-defunct corporation, Irvine Gyn Oncology, headed by Dr. Philip Disaia (performing surgery at both University of California Medical Center, Irvine and Memorial Medical Center, Women’s Center, Long Beach); and Dr. Louis Gluck, allegedly until 1988.
More than 700,000 hysterectomies (estimate) are performed annually, weakening the immune system. This work will be sent to various private and governmental investigative agencies, as well as organizations which have been established to help women cope with the long-term and short-term after effects.
Information received will be kept confidential. Requested reply will necessitate self-addressed, stamped envelopes due to minimal funding of the Society for Hysterectomy Education (SHE).
