Henry W. Harvey, finance director and treasurer for La Quinta, Calif., will take over two financial positions in West Covina, including some of the duties of former city Treasurer Charlene Jung, who resigned Oct. 12.

Harvey will be assistant city treasurer and accounting manager. The council agreed Monday to pay him $4,000 a month for both jobs. He will handle investments and general operations in the city treasurer’s office. In accounting, he will assist with financial review and internal control audits of city departments.

Harvey has been chief deputy controller for San Bernardino County for six years, and finance director and treasurer for Show Low, Ariz., for two years. He also was controller for the Palmdale Water District for about 12 years.
