President’s Veto of Civil Rights Bill

After President Bush’s successful veto, former Ku Klux Klansman and neo-Nazi movement member David Duke’s comment that “the President and the Congress are getting my message” (Part A, Oct. 25) is a perfectly horrific statement. Does such a ringing--if chilling--endorsement presage Duke’s becoming the reluctant Republican Party’s poster boy for its civil rights policy?
