The chairman of the International Amateur Athletic Federation’s doping commission said the panel investigating the drug test of U.S. shotputter Randy Barnes hassent its findings to the IAAF, the international governing body of track and field, and then to The Athletics Congress, the U.S. governing body.
Arne Ljunqvist said the five panel members filed their reports but declined to say what conclusions they reached. Barnes tested positive for a banned substance after a meet in Malmo, Sweden, last summer. Because of technical problems in the testing procedure, the IAAF asked the panel to review the case.
