Black Balloons in London Mourn Slain Kuwaitis

LONDON —
Kuwait’s ambassador to Britain launched thousands of black balloons into the London sky Friday in mourning for Kuwaitis killed in the Iraqi invasion and pleaded for immediate military action to liberate his country.
From a bridge across the River Thames, Ambassador Ghazi Rayes released balloons marked with the slogan “Free Kuwait.” The gesture marked the third month since the Aug. 2 invasion.
