Green Light for Traffic

Share

Letters from your readers seem to be filled with complaints about the handling of Los Angeles traffic. Let me, for a change, throw my hat in the air and compliment Mayor Bradley and the Los Angeles Traffic Division.

A few afternoons ago in moderately heavy traffic I made a driving record. I left from Vanowen Street and Fallbrook Avenue in Canoga Park and made it to Balboa Boulevard and Nordhoff Street in Northridge nonstop--I do mean nonstop. Every traffic light, both west to east and south to north was green. This hasn’t happened to me in 40 years of driving in this part of the Valley.

This has to be a tricky piece of engineering that is saving gasoline, traffic nerves, and cutting down on smog.
