Police capped a yearlong investigation Tuesday, arresting two men here on suspicion of possessing a kilogram of cocaine and seizing more than $50,000 worth of firearms in Utah.

Although many of the details about the investigation were not immediately available, Huntington Beach Police Lt. Ed McErlain said the arrests of James Dimitri Dix, 31, of Sandy, Utah, and Kurt Karl Lustbaum, 29, of Sunset Beach were the result of a joint investigation with Anaheim and Salt Lake City police.

The suspects were arrested with the cocaine in a car on Lincoln Avenue at the Santa Ana Freeway in Anaheim, police said, after Utah investigators obtained a search warrant for Dix’s residence in Sandy, which is about 15 miles south of Salt Lake City.
