NATION IN BRIEF : WISCONSIN : Jury Hears From 6 of Woman’s 46 Selves

A woman suffering from multiple personality disorder summoned six of her 46 selves to testify that a man sexually assaulted her. The one allegedly attacked, described as a 20-year-old who likes to dance, said she did not know what sex was. Mark A. Peterson, 29, of Oshkosh, is on trial for second-degree sexual assault. The prosecution contends that he knew the 27-year-old woman was mentally ill. The woman’s predominating self told the jury she was unaware of the incident, but learned of it from her other personalities. She said she had told the defendant of her many identities, and that he asked her to switch to the young, fun-loving one before they had sex.
