Waxman’s Help in Passing Clean Air Act
With regard to the article “1990 Smog Season Had Cleanest Air on Record” (front page, Nov. 1), I can’t imagine where this information came from. I choked and had such difficulty breathing that the air actually made me sick. Where are these statistics taken from?
I think it must be that Air Quality Management District officials just want to feel good. What air do they breathe? They are in El Monte--that’s not too far from Monterey Park--where is this clean air? I just want to know so I can move there!
Let’s get real, folks, and accept responsibility for some of the dirtiest air in the United States. If this is the cleanest it gets, then someone is really living in a fantasy world.
