Peru Recruits Eat Seals

LIMA, Peru —
Famished air force conscripts have killed dozens of seals on a Peruvian beach and eaten them to supplement daily rations, the head of a neighborhood council said Saturday. “We call on the authorities to please provide these people with proper rations so that they will not have to resort to this slaughter of seals,” Carlos Gonzalez said.
