FULLERTON : Parking Structure Opens Near College

Share

After nearly three years of planning and discussion, the 420-space Plummer Parking Structure has opened recently the corner of Chapman Avenue and Lemon Street.

The two-level structure, just across from Fullerton High School, is expected to alleviate parking problems generated by the high school, 19,000-student Fullerton College and special events on both campuses.

The $3.3-million structure is a joint venture of the college and the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency, with the college responsible for 72% of the funding, according to Sylvia Palmer Mudrick, a city spokeswoman.

College students are expected to use the structure during the weekdays, but, on weekends, parking will be available for the Wilshire Theater and Plummer Auditorium, home of the Fullerton Civic Light Opera, Mudrick said.

The parking fee will be $1.50 except during special events, when it will increase to $3.

Students will pay for a parking pass through the college.
