COUNTYWIDE : El Dorado to Host Academic Decathlon
The 22nd annual academic decathlon for 11th- and 12th-graders in Orange County will be held Saturday at El Dorado High School in Placentia.
The competition includes tests in math, science, economics, fine arts, literature and social science. Contestants must also present prepared and impromptu speeches, write an essay and be interviewed by judges. This year’s topic for the final event, the Super Quiz, is space exploration.
In keeping with that theme, the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Rockwell International will be setting up two space exhibits at the high school on Saturday for participants and guests.
