Duarte : Proposed Rise in Fees OKd

Share

The price of conditional-use permits and variances will go up $200 under increases in community development fees tentatively approved by the City Council on Tuesday.

The proposed fee increases will affect building, engineering and planning fees, which, according to the Planning Department, have not kept pace with actual costs.

The proposed fee for a variance or a conditional-use permit--the permits most often sought by property owners--would increase from $250 to $450.

The council also gave preliminary approval to an ordinance that allows the city to adjust its fees automatically to keep pace with increases in county community development fees.

A public hearing and a second reading of the ordinance is set for Nov. 27.
