West Covina : Auto Plaza Consultant Hired
The Redevelopment Agency has approved a contract with a consulting firm to evaluate proposals from automobile dealerships that want to expand or relocate in West Covina.
The agency voted 5 to 0 to hire the Newport Beach-based Auto Center Group and pay the firm $150 an hour.
Eleven dealerships have moved to the city, generating $5 million in sales tax revenue, since the West Covina Auto Plaza opened in 1981. They compose 15% of the yearly sales tax revenue, according to a city report.
