Defeat of Big Green

Share

In response to “Flashing Yellow on Issues Green?” (editorial, Nov. 9):

How forgetful, even hypocritical, can The Times Editorial Board get? It comes down against “Big Green” (Prop. 128) before the election. Not needed and all that kind of stuff.

Then Big Green goes down with a Big Bang. And lo and behold: Hey, Pete Wilson, act swiftly: Set up a state Environmental Protection Agency. Save those forests. And you write about the need to “deal with threats to health and quality of life that are still not covered by law.” You’d think The Times had supported Prop. 128, and was now lamenting its demise from having been drowned by a massive wave of big greenbacks. No mention of The Times’ contra position. Ahhh, politics.
