No Butts About It: Free ‘Smokeout’ Kits Offered

Free “survival kits” for people who quit smoking in conjunction with the Great American Smokeout today will be available from 7 a.m. to noon in the lobby of Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital, 333 N. Prairie Ave., Inglewood.

The smokeout, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, is an effort to encourage smokers to give up cigarettes for 24 hours.

The kits include sugarless gum, “Cause We Care” headless matches, a red rubber band wrist snapper, smoker’s toothpaste and buttons with such slogans as “Non-Smoker in Progress.”
