Murder on Mock Trial: A group of well-known actors took part in a mock trial staged this morning outside the Federal Building in downtown Los Angeles to commemorate the anniversary of the murder of six Jesuit priests in El Salvador. The organization, called the Wednesday Morning Coalition for Peace and Justice in Central America and the U.S., will “try” the murderers of the six priests, their cook and her daughter in a street opera featuring masked actors, puppets and mimes. Among those scheduled to participate were actors Martin Sheen, Ed Asner and Robert Foxworth. The eight were fatally shot on Nov. 16, 1989, at the University of Central America in San Salvador.
