Share

A construction worker was fatally crushed when a 900-pound wooden form fell on his chest Friday at a freeway construction site near Los Angeles International Airport.

Fellow workers freed the man from the form used for molding concrete before paramedics arrived at the site at Imperial Highway and the San Diego Freeway.

Angel Limon, 51, of Wilmington died after being flown by helicopter to UCLA Medical Center. He was working on the new Glenn Anderson Freeway, a 17.3-mile, $2-billion project scheduled for completion in late 1992.
