Police Seek Witnesses to Car Crash
Police are seeking witnesses to a car accident involving a pregnant woman and another driver at 4:30 p.m. Saturday in front of the Fairview Villa apartments at 810 S. Fairview St. in Santa Ana.
According to Police Sgt. Dennis Rios, Josephina Ochoa, 21, was driving south in a brown Toyota and turning left into the apartment complex, where she lived, when her car collided with a white Volkswagen driven by Oscar Hernandez, 29, who was driving north.
Both cars were smashed in front and thrown to curbs on opposite sides of the street, Rios said.
The drivers were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange. On Sunday, Ochoa was listed as stable and in good condition. Hospital officials would not release information about her fetus, which police said was near term. No information was available about Hernandez.
The investigation is continuing. “We are really appealing to the public for witnesses,” Rios said.
Anyone with information is asked to call (714) 647-5084.
