Fallbrook
One man was killed and another was seriously injured when their cars collided head-on Monday on California 76 near Gird Road in Fallbrook, the California Highway Patrol said.
Roberto Gonzalez, 38, of Riverside was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second car, who was not identified, was taken to Palomar Hospital with serious injuries, a CHP spokeswoman said.
Gonzalez was traveling east about 2:25 a.m. when his pickup veered across the double yellow line and collided with a westbound sedan, the spokeswoman said. Neither driver was wearing a seat belt, she said.
