COTTAGE GROVE, Minn. —
A Northwest Airlines pilot charged with driving drunk on his way to work on Memorial Day has pleaded guilty to careless driving.
Hans Falkenberg, 39, was fined $700 and sentenced to 45 days in jail, court officials said Monday. They said that $200 of the fine and the jail term were suspended on the condition that Falkenberg is not arrested on a similar charge for one year.
Falkenberg was on his way to fly a passenger plane at the time he was pulled over. He is appealing his dismissal from the airline.
