The LACE Case: Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, the downtown nonprofit arts space known as LACE, announced Wednesday that it has reached an out-of-court settlement with the La Cienega Boulevard commercial gallery that had been using the name Lace Fine Arts. According to the settlement, the commercial space, which has already changed its name to George Mayers Gallery, will inform all its customers that it is not associated with LACE, post a disclaimer in the gallery window for 90 days and pay all attorney’s fees incurred by LACE.
