Residents will have the opportunity to get rid of unwanted bulky items around the house by taking part in the city’s fall cleanup program.

City officials are sponsoring the second major cleanup effort this year on Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and 2. Shrubs, appliances, furniture, yard debris and other trash not readily accepted by the general collection service will be accepted at the City Yard, 21815 Pioneer Blvd. Public Works Department crew members are scheduled to be on duty to accept discarded items from 5 to 10 p.m. Nov. 30, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 1, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 2.

Spray cans, old paint, lacquer, glue and solvents, petroleum products like oil and gasoline, and cleaning agents are considered hazardous waste and will not be accepted. A program to discard these materials is currently being developed.
