Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills has donated more than 27,000 pounds of food for the Westside Food Bank in Santa Monica.

The contribution will provide more than 35,000 meals for needy people on the Westside, according to Bruce Rankin, executive director of the food bank.

“This is the most food gathered for us by one congregation, and with the growing need, this couldn’t have come at a better time,” Rankin said. “We are delighted with the hard work and generosity of the Temple Emanuel congregation.”
