SANTA PAULA : Bank Robber Gets 8 Years in Prison

A man found guilty of robbing a Santa Paula bank on March 1 has been sentenced to eight years in prison, FBI officials said Friday.

Daniel Glen Myers, 26, a transient, was arrested March 8 by Ventura County sheriff’s deputies in connection with the armed robbery of Citizens State Bank, 537 W. Harvard Blvd. in Santa Paula, said Lawrence Lawler, head of the FBI’s Los Angeles office.

The FBI also reported that Daniel Phillip Martinez, 26, of Oxnard was indicted Wednesday for allegedly robbing the First Interstate Bank at 2610 E. Main St. in Ventura on Sept. 6, and Channel Islands National Bank at 155 South A St. in Oxnard on Sept. 29.

Martinez will be arraigned Dec. 3. If convicted, he could be sentenced to a maximum of 20 years in prison.
