South Pasadena : Task Force to Study Zoning

Share

The Downtown Revitalization Task Force will begin mapping out a proposal early next year to revise South Pasadena’s zoning laws, which govern how land may be used in the city’s residential, commercial and manufacturing areas.

The citizens committee also will search for ways to attract more shoppers and merchants to the Mission West district.

The City Council on Nov. 21 approved the proposed agenda of the 26-member task force, scheduled to begin what is expected to be a yearlong process in January.

Councilman James Woollacott, who dissented in the 3-1 vote, said the group should concentrate solely on the revitalization of the Mission West district and leave any proposals to change the zoning laws to the Planning Commission.
