A new Improvisation comedy club is scheduled to open in Brea the day after Christmas.

Nationally known, touring comedians will perform at the Brea Improv at 945 Birch St. Sundays through Thursdays at 8:30 p.m., Fridays at 8:30 and 10:30 and Saturdays at 8, 10 and midnight. Admission will be $7, $10 on weekends.

“Orange County is so big, we knew there was room for another club,” said Pam Felix, general manager of the franchise group that runs the Irvine Improv and six other comedy clubs between here and Dallas.

“This is the perfect location,” Felix added. “Brea is so much like Irvine. It’s upscale and growing. . . . It’s so close to Los Angeles, it’s easy to get good comedians because they don’t have to fly across the country.”

Isn’t the night after Christmas a weird time to open a club? “Actually, that’s generally a really busy time for us,” Felix said. “So many people are on vacation, and vacationing in California.”
